Connecting the Repeaters for Better Community Service
With much of the CEVOL-sponsored Amateur Radio repeater system already in place, our next task will be adding linking technology that will allow connection of our repeaters to one another, to affiliated repeaters and other systems around the nation and globally.
Linking repeaters adds considerable complexity and expense to our program. Some of our repeater sites lack Internet connectivity, necessary in the first phase of our program. A computer must be installed at each site and it must be a very reliable computer since our hilltop sites are difficult to access. We have identified AllStarLink software as the foundation for our networking project, which will begin at the Gopher Peak site (shown) in late 2013.
